Spring is the busiest and most complicated season. It is when hail and wind do their damage, so it is when the most people need roofs, which means demand and lead times spike right when the weather is least cooperative. But if you are replacing a worn-out roof by choice, spring is the season with the longest waits and the highest chance of a rain delay.
Winter installs are perfectly doable in Oklahoma because the state gets plenty of clear, dry cold spells. The main consideration is temperature: shingles are more brittle in the cold and their seal strips take longer to bond, so a careful crew hand-seals vulnerable areas and picks the warmer days. Metal and tile are far less temperature-sensitive, so winter can actually be a fine and less crowded time to install those systems.
